The NBA season opener puts one of the Eastern Conference’s oldest rivalries on the screens at Grails Miami. The Celtics visit the Pistons at Little Caesars Arena for a Tuesday afternoon tip-off, and the first game of the year gets the featured-matchup treatment in Wynwood.

Boston out of the Atlantic against Detroit out of the Central has real history behind it. The late-1980s playoff battles between these franchises were some of the most physical basketball the league ever produced, and the rivalry flared again in the Eastern Conference playoffs of the 2000s. A season opener carries its own weight: the first standings entry of the year and an early marker in a long conference race.

The Covered “Miami Vice” Patio & The Yard

Spacious. Vibrant. Pure Miami. The covered Miami Vice patio seats up to 120 across multiple table configurations and has its own patio bar, with TVs angled for visibility from every seat. The Yard sits adjacent under a giant tent with a projector screen for the major game. Hookah service runs all evening on the patio.

The color palette pulls straight from Miami Vice: pinks, teals, neon accents. The patio walls flow with rotating mural work that fits Wynwood’s art-district vibe.

Yes, you really do drink it from a Jordan-inspired sneaker. The Grails sneaker cocktail is our most-photographed creation, equal parts conversation piece and craft cocktail. It’s been featured in local press, racked up millions of Instagram impressions, and is now a Wynwood rite of passage.

Rails Sports Bar was the highlight of our whole trip to Miami. Great atmosphere, plenty of screens, and the kind of energy you want from a sports bar. We had such a great experience, and a huge part of that was our server, Austin! He was genuinely one of the best servers I’ve had in a long time. He was incredibly attentive super kind, personable, and so easy to talk to. He checked in at all the right times, made sure we had everything we needed, and just had such a great energy throughout the entire experience. It’s rare to have a server who makes you feel like they actually care that you’re having a good time, and Austin absolutely did. He made us feel so welcome and turned an already fun outing into an even better one. Truly 12/10 service. I’ll absolutely be back — especially to watch sports — and will definitely be asking for Austin again!
