The Florida Panthers head north for a Friday matinee at Capital One Arena, and Grails Miami has the game up in the main room. Sunrise is a short run up I-95 from Wynwood, and the South Florida hockey crowd has turned into a real presence around the Eastern Conference. Thanksgiving weekend, an afternoon puck drop, and a Wynwood room pointed at the ice make for a straightforward plan on a holiday Friday.

This is an Atlantic Division club visiting a Metropolitan Division building, the kind of cross-division Eastern Conference date that quietly matters once the standings tighten in March. Capital One Arena sits in the middle of downtown Washington, one of the few NHL buildings you can reach by subway, and the Capitals have held that corner of the city since the late 1990s. Florida spent years turning a warm-weather market into a hockey town, and that history travels with the road crowd. Afternoon hockey also changes the pace: brighter ice, a thinner slate, a room that settles in early.

Spacious. Vibrant. Pure Miami. The covered Miami Vice patio seats up to 120 across multiple table configurations and has its own patio bar, with TVs angled for visibility from every seat. The Yard sits adjacent under a giant tent with a projector screen for the major game. Hookah service runs all evening on the patio.

The color palette pulls straight from Miami Vice: pinks, teals, neon accents. The patio walls flow with rotating mural work that fits Wynwood’s art-district vibe.

Yes, you really do drink it from a Jordan-inspired sneaker. The Grails sneaker cocktail is our most-photographed creation, equal parts conversation piece and craft cocktail. It’s been featured in local press, racked up millions of Instagram impressions, and is now a Wynwood rite of passage.

Rails Sports Bar was the highlight of our whole trip to Miami. Great atmosphere, plenty of screens, and the kind of energy you want from a sports bar. We had such a great experience, and a huge part of that was our server, Austin! He was genuinely one of the best servers I’ve had in a long time. He was incredibly attentive super kind, personable, and so easy to talk to. He checked in at all the right times, made sure we had everything we needed, and just had such a great energy throughout the entire experience. It’s rare to have a server who makes you feel like they actually care that you’re having a good time, and Austin absolutely did. He made us feel so welcome and turned an already fun outing into an even better one. Truly 12/10 service. I’ll absolutely be back — especially to watch sports — and will definitely be asking for Austin again!
