Heat home opener territory at Kaseya Center brings the New Orleans Pelicans into downtown Miami, with Grails Miami set as the watch-party room a short drive north of the arena. The room turns over to basketball as tip-off approaches and the covered patio picks up the spillover through the second half.

Pelicans in Miami is a cross-conference matchup with a Gulf Coast flavor, New Orleans out of the Southwest Division of the Western Conference against the Southeast Division host. Kaseya Center reads well on an early-season Thursday, the kind of night where the schedule still feels wide open and every road team is looking for a stamp on the trip. Spacious. Vibrant. Pure Miami. The covered Miami Vice patio seats up to 120 across multiple table configurations and has its own patio bar, with TVs angled for visibility from every seat. The Yard sits adjacent under a giant tent with a projector screen for the major game. Hookah service runs all evening on the patio.

The color palette pulls straight from Miami Vice: pinks, teals, neon accents. The patio walls flow with rotating mural work that fits Wynwood’s art-district vibe.

Yes, you really do drink it from a Jordan-inspired sneaker. The Grails sneaker cocktail is our most-photographed creation, equal parts conversation piece and craft cocktail. It’s been featured in local press, racked up millions of Instagram impressions, and is now a Wynwood rite of passage.

Came here to watch the France versus Spain game during the World Cup. Overall, the place is great. I ordered one round of drinks and a couple of appetizers. Specifically, we ordered the cheese sticks, steak tacos and chicken wings. The cheese sticks and the steak tacos were delicious. The chicken wings were not my favorite. We had two different flavors. Garlic Parmesan and lemon pepper. The best flavor with lemon pepper. The cheese sticks sauce was a guava sauce that was very delicious.
